About us

Never has there been a more pressing time for homeowners to take a proactive approach to create a greener home. Not only to help protect the planet, but also to tackle rising energy costs.

But where do you start? The sales pitch from companies selling solar panels or air source heat pumps can be convincing…but sadly we’ve come across far too many homeowners who’ve gone down this route and purchased equipment that was never going to be suitable for their home.

It’s confusing and overwhelming. But that’s where we can help.

Energy Audit UK was founded by a fully qualified energy assessor and an experienced residential and commercial architect on a mission to provide homeowners with impartial and accurate advice to help them achieve their home energy goals.

We are not tied to any suppliers or installers, but instead work on a completely independent basis, so you’ll receive unbiased advice to kick start your energy saving journey.

By carrying out a comprehensive home energy audit we can establish where you are now, where you want to get to, and the best way to get there based on the factors that are unique to your home - because there is no one size fits all approach!

At the end of the process, you’ll be able to make informed decisions and begin your retrofitting journey with confidence.

Mike Taylor

Mike Taylor Architect

Mike is a qualified and experienced residential and commercial architect. He founded his practice, Taylor and Co Architects, in 1991, following his passion for architecture and interior design.

With an increasing number of clients asking for energy efficient recommendations as part of their renovation, extension or self-build project, Mike identified a need for accurate and impartial advice to help homeowners reduce their carbon footprint.

Mike has a passion for good design, but it has to be functional and sustainable. Founding
Energy Audits was therefore a natural step for Mike, and working as part of the Home Energy Audit UK team, he can now help homeowners to future proof their homes.

“We're about to embark on a major renovation project on our 1960’s detached home, and want to do everything we can to make the house more energy efficient. Energy Audits challenged our thinking, and helped us to really understand the true costs and payback period for a whole range of renewable energy solutions. Having everything laid out in front of us helped us to make an informed decision, and gave us the confidence to proceed with our plans.”
